Bagpiper for the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex

Matt Willis is the premier bagpiper of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, and has been performing professionally as a piper since 2001. Whether you want to learn how to play the pipes or you wish to have the pipes featured at a wedding, party, or memorial, Matt is happy to discuss how to make that a reality.

Matt published his first tune book/CD combo titledĀ Tunes, Chords & Harmony Volume ONE in the summer of 2015 and and released Volume TWO: Christmas Edition in November 2015. Both are available on Amazon today!

Matt Willis is the bagpiper and whistle player for Rathmore, the latest Celtic rock band from the Dallas Metroplex. Before that, Matt spent 12 years with The Killdares, one of the leading Celtic rock bands in the United States and recorded three studio records and was featured on a live DVD with the band.

Matt has recorded with a number of other artists and organizations, including Floramay Holliday, Heather McCready, and many others.

Matt is also the Pipe Major of the Metroplex United Pipe Band. In 2016, Metroplex United earned first place at both the Tulsa ScotFest and the Arkansas Scottish Festival in Grade 5, and with those victories was upgraded to Grade 4 for the 2017 competition season.

Matt began playing the pipes in 1996, and joined the Silver Thistle Pipes & Drums in 2000, and was able to compete at the World Pipe Band Championships in August of 2001. From 2004 to 2017, Matt was the piper for The Killdares, and in 2016 helped form Rathmore, Dallas’ newest Celtic rock band. Matt is extremely proud to tour the nation, sharing his love of the bagpipes with folks across the country.
