Matt will be playing a private party in Dallas
Love holiday music? Love Bagpipes? Ever thought those two would never meet?
Never fear! Pipe Major Matt Willis Bagpiper and Pipe Sergeant Peter Bailey Bagpiper are going trade their typical Great Highland Bagpipes for some Scottish smallpipes to live-stream Christmas carols and other holiday music on Facebook! Click here to head to MUPB’s Facebook page where it will be streamed live on December 13 at 7:30-8:30pm!
They’ll be playing for your merriment but also for donations. We have partnered with the North Texas Food Bank so if you like what you hear, your “tips” to the pipers will go to help provide nutritious food to those less fortunate this holiday season.
In addition to the music, Matt and Peter will show you some of the details of playing bagpipes, share some of their holiday memories, and take viewer questions!
So get comfy, start a fire, put on your slippers, grab a mug of cocoa or a glass of eggnog, and join us this Wednesday evening for something a little different for your holiday.

Spend a beautiful fall day with Matt Willis and Metroplex United Pipe Band on a working farm, where Celts and Celts-at-heart will gather to enjoy live bagpipe music, Scottish food, gift vendors, kids games and crafts, historic costumes, silent auctions, Outlander fan meet-up, and more.
Why this fundraiser? Metroplex United Pipe Band is a non-profit organization that promotes
Scottish culture in our community, as well as performing in local parades, concerts, civic events and more. We also compete as a group against other pipe bands from across the country, with the ultimate goal of competing at the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow, Scotland. This is the “Olympics” of piping, and the pinnacle of the art.
“The Worlds” takes place in August every year, and can be viewed via livestream here in the US. So stirring to watch!
The Celtic Fest will raise a portion of the money for the band to actually travel to Scotland, probably in 2019, and represent the USA, and especially North Texas against the best bands in the world. The band hopes to raise $40,000 between now and then to get to Scotland and participate in the week’s worth of practices and requisite competitive events. We’d love to take you along, through your participation with us!
And we hope to see you here at the farm in November!
Matt Willis will be leading a Metroplex United PIpe Band at the annual Gainesville Veterans Day Event. Fireworks show to follow! Free admission.
